How many days off can a gymnast have?

Should a gymnast have a vacation? How many days off can a gymnast have? Will a gymnast be out of shape afterwards and how long will it take to get it back?

These are one of the most important questions in life of any athlete and gymnast in particular.

Let’s start with little gymnasts who train 2-4 times a week. They may not take a vacation at all or take a week off as long as they follow their regular training schedule.

Since their training is not as intense, they don’t get as tired as older girls.

Those who are 8-10 years old should take some time off so they can emotionally and morally be prepared for a new season, have an opportunity to rest up for it.

This is also a great opportunity for parents to take some time off gymnastics.

If your coach lets you take a two-week vacation make sure to stay fit or do any kind of sport activity during it.

That way it will be easier to come back to the gym and catch up with your fellow gymnasts.

But no matter the age, you cannot have more than 4 weeks off practice!

Little gymnasts can forget what they don’t practice and older girls can risk of taking too many steps back.

It will be extremely hard to get back in shape, physically painful and emotionally traumatic.

Adding that extra weight (which usually happens on vacations) won’t help either.

If you want to show your coach that you are serious and willing to achieve big results in this sport, you should be back in the gym at least 2-3 times a week after a 2 week vacation.

I guarantee you that your coach will notice it.

It is also easier now not to lose shape since everyone has access to a big variety of online training.
